My beloved husband, Kent, died in January 2012, 3 years after diagnosis of a brain tumour. Our son was 2 1/2 and our daughter 3 months old. He and I were far too young. I am now hurtling through the black space of life without him.

From Here to Here

The storm is here love
The waters are rising
And I never could swim
My arms can't hold you
And my voice can't tell you
But you know, you know
I love you from here to here

The storm is here love
It's taking me away
And I can't take you with me
My arms can't hold you
And my voice can't tell you
But you know, you know
I love you from here to here

The storm is here love
I've seen the lights ahead
And I'll see you again
My arms can't hold you
And my voice can't tell you
But you know, you know
I love you from here to here

The storm is here love
Put your anchor down
And don't lose yourself
My arms can't hold you
And my voice can't tell you
But you know, you know
I love you from here to here

  2. put your anchor down

    the storm is dark
the kind of dark that suffocates sight
but breathe in the traces of light

    put your anchor down

this wind blowing will whisper after the storm
and the anchor will hold you
    still
    until
    the waves are quiet
and you drift toward a silent horizon
    in the distance
    when you remember me
there just might be an echo
    of peace
    and the faintest
    melody

(I would sing, too, of you)

    put your anchor down

    1. Thank you Kent. I like it, and will read it often.
I don't really seem to have an anchor anymore.

  3. Went to rename myself KentL but couldn't.. (for the sake of initial first impressions).

So, well, you get the idea.

I trust this art has the right heart. :)
